Terms & Conditions Exploration Travel

Generally, we don’t like the ‘small letters” and do our utmost best to ensure that clients are amazed by the experiences we offer in Thailand and Myanmar. However, sometimes it’s good to clarify the conditions, just in case there is a misunderstanding. Unless otherwise specifically agreed, the below terms & conditions will apply at the time of booking.

Making a positive impact on People & Planet in Thailand and Myanmar

It’s extremely important to us that everything we do as a company does have a positive impact on People & Planet in Thailand and Myanmar. This includes but is not limited to limiting the use of plastic, ensuring suppliers & staff are paid fairly and in time, respecting local culture, law, customs & practice. If in any way, the behaviour of a traveller or the operation of a tour somehow damages the impact on People & Planet, Exploration Travel reserves the right to cancel a part or the full tour and replace it with another experience.

Quotation Terms

We offer tailor-made experiences, and our aim is to “wow” clients and make the trip transformational and meaningful. This means that there is flexibility on the spot for a client and for Exploration Travel to adapt the program according to the circumstances on the spot. While we do make proposals with the utmost precision the actual experience on the ground might vary a bit.

Validity

Our quotations are valid for 30 days from the quotation date, unless otherwise specifically written. Quotations past the validity date might be subject to changes.

Availability

In the quotation phase, none of the mentioned services, such as flights and hotels, will be booked. Exploration Travel does not conduct ‘availability-checks’ before actual booking. Upon acceptance of the quotation by the client, we will do our best to confirm bookings exactly as quoted. If not available, we will confirm the next best available alternative and discuss this with you.

Rates and Currencies

All rates are based on a per person basis, inclusive of all taxes and service charges and quoted in US Dollars (unless otherwise indicated in the quotation).

Domestic Flights

Flight timings and tariffs may be changed at any time by the airline.

Payment

• Payment is due on the date specified as “due date” on our invoice.

• Invoice amount is net; all bank fees are the responsibility of the client.

• Exploration Travel reserves the right to cancel any arrangements without notification if payments have not been received by the due date.

Deposits

Deposits may be needed to secure certain reservations, such as for flights, cruises, accommodation or other services. As different services within Myanmar all have different conditions Exploration Travel will generally only ask you once for a 15% deposit payment after the confirmation of the booking to manage all different payments. In some specific cases, we will inform you if there are different deposits amounts required. The deposits are non-refundable.

Cancellation policy

In case of cancellation, fees will be charged as follows:

• 31 days before arrival date – no cancellation fee apart from the deposit

• 30 to 15 days before arrival date – 35% of tour price

• 14 to 6 days before arrival date – 70% of tour price

• 5 to 1 days before arrival date – 90% of tour price

• No show – 100% of tour price

Exploration Travel reserves the right to give no refund in case of cancellation of the remaining program, in full or part, by the travellers after they started the tour.

Traveller’s responsibility

Travellers are responsible for having proper travel documents, such as a valid passport with enough pages, the proper visas and the necessary passport pictures. Exploration Travel advises travellers to have proper and adequate travel insurance for the duration of their trip.

Force majeure

Exploration Travel defines Force Majeure as: “Any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of a party which prevent or impede the due performance of our services, including but not limited to war or hostilities; riot or civil commotion; epidemic; earthquake, flood or other natural disasters.” The traveller and his agent warrant that Exploration Travel and its subsidiaries shall not be responsible and/or liable for costs or missed opportunities due to changes and/or cancellations in the program, or part(s) thereof due to Force Majeure.

Liability

Exploration Travel shall do its utmost to provide services to the best of its ability and work towards full satisfaction of the client. Exploration Travel acts solely as an intermediary between the traveller, his travel agent or tour operator, and local airlines, hotels, restaurants, boat companies and ground transportation companies. Exploration Travel is therefore not responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained by the traveller, including those occurring outside the tour programs. We shall in no event be liable to the traveller or his travel agent, by reason of breach of services or unsatisfactory services provided to the traveller by third parties or by way of indemnity or in tort or otherwise, for any loss, injury, damage, delay, change in schedule or other adverse events which are beyond the control of Exploration Travel and/or sustained by an act or default of any person or company providing the services to the traveller.

Amendments

Exploration Travel reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and from time to time without any prior notice. Kindly be advised to check at our website for the latest Terms and Conditions.
