What makes Thailand so special?
It’s the gentleness of daily life that ensures everybody finds their own path to explore, it’s the “sanuk” way of life, meaning that having fun is important in any life situation. Maybe the fascination with local aesthetics, the eternal love of Thais to ensure things look pretty, the food that is full of flavours and the stories of the people and their cultures continues to fascinate.
About the founder
Edwin Briels – Managing Director
Edwin has been creating experiences for travellers to Myanmar and Thailand for over 20 years. After working for companies like Exo Travel and most recently Khiri Travel, Edwin continuously finds new paths to travel and experiences to show clients the story of Myanmar and Thailand, resulting in engaging and fascinating journeys.
Stefan Scheerer – General Manager.
Stefan was infected with the travel bug at the early age of 17 when he first came to Thailand as a high school exchange student. He has been working in Myanmar, Laos and Thailand, speaks Thai and continues to develop The Roots Routes. with the goal to transform travel experiences in an innovative, sustainable, and fun way.
